Let's be clear

Your time is valuable so here are key points on whether I’m the right choice for your needs.

1. I work with psychology related professionals – This means therapists, mental health providers and bloggers. If you’re looking for someone to write for financial services, travel, cooking etc; I’m not the right person for you.

2. There are many different types of copywriting. I specialise in long form content writing; articles, white papers, case studies and blog posts. I also provide newsletters, e-book and website page copy.

3. I provide both bylined and ghostwritten work with the latter being charged at a higher rate.

4. Speaking of rates – All my charges are done by project. Every project is unique and requires different degrees of research. After we discuss your needs, I’ll provide a complete quote.

Process

First step is to fill out the contact form. The short form is just to give me an idea of what you are looking for so that I can decide if I’m the right person for the job.

I’ll then contact you via email to arrange the best time for us to start our journey.

First we will go into detail over your plans for the project. We’ll make clear goals and decide on the necessary steps to reach those goals. We will discuss your target clients, their demographics, what you want from them, what you want to achieve with the copy and why they can benefit from your project.

We’ll agree on a timeline and once we’re both happy, I’ll invoice you with the 50% advance payment to confirm and move onto the next step.

At this stage, the focus of my research is still on you, your voice, your business and your readers. Effective communication is all about bridging the gap between your knowledge and your readers. There is a wide range in technical complexity when it comes to the field of psychology. So I first decide on what level of writing is appropriate for your project.

Then I’ll research the project itself. Depending on what the project is, this may be a one stage process where I then move onto the writing phase, or I may return to this stage regularly on larger, more complex topics.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything through this period, I just want you to know what I’ll be up to.

This is where it all starts to come together, the fun bit for me.

If this is a small project, such as a single article; there’s not too much to explain. I’ll pull together all the research I’ve done and turn it into a beautiful story for your readers.

For longer, more complicated work there will be some variations.

If this project is a series of pieces, such as regular blog posts, I’ll also give you some thoughts and my perspective on where future posts might go. I might write with the intention of several pieces coming together and I’ll also make sure to find ways to link all of your work, both what I’ve written and not together.

For even larger projects such as e-book ghostwriting, I’ll provide regular updates, samples of the work and make sure you know that everything is on schedule.

No matter the scale of the writing project, after it is completed I will take it through an extensive editing process.

This is to make sure the piece is concise, clear and of course, conveys the message effectively.

I’ll send you a copy of the work done for review. Depending on the scale of project this will be done differently and will be discussed at the first meeting.

I will always offer at least one revision cycle, where you can return me the copy with any additions or alterations you want to have. I’ve never needed to offer more than one but on larger projects this can be agreed upon.

When we’re both happy I’ll send you a full invoice with the final 50% payment due.

Once received, I’ll release all property to you and copyright as agreed.

If the work is bylined and accredited to me, I’ll happily offer any promotional photos and copy to be included.
